The opening ceremony of the sports gala 2023 was held at FATA University.

Vice Chancellor FATA University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, and Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Johar Ali, were the chief guests, while faculty members and a large number of students were also present on this occasion.

The inauguration ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, while later teams of various departments participated in the march past and saluted the guests while passing in front of the saluting platform.

On this occasion, the players wore colourful clothes and expressing their enthusiasm with different slogans.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chancellor FATA University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan said that FATA University has the honour that our students are making the name of the university shine all over the world in academic activities, and the abilities of our students in co-curricular activities are also being enhanced. He said that sports play a key role in building a balanced society; we should provide more opportunities for our new generation to play sports to protect them from drugs and immorality.

Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Johar Ali in his address appreciating the performance and enthusiasm of the students, said that sports develop sportsman spirit, patience, endurance, leadership, and teamwork skills in youth. He said that sports are an important part of education and training. It is impossible to achieve the goals of education without it. He said that youth is our capital, and all possible resources are being used for their balanced development and best personality building.
