In pursuance of the MoU signed on March 1, 2018 between the FATA University, FR Kohat and PAIMAN Alumni Trust, a workshop was arranged by PAIMAN Alumni Trust whereby twenty-nine (29) students were trained in PAIMAN house, Islamabad from March 29 to April 1, 2018. The students were trained on themes such as Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism, Active Citizenship, Community Peace Building and alternate narratives to extremist narrative. Mr. Muhammad Saeed Khalil, Lecturer Department of Political Science, represented FATA University as a Focal Person for the workshop.
Resource persons included Ms. Aneela and Mr. Sajid who talked about Identity and the impact of violence on identity. Brigadier (R) Shafqat Mehmood spoke on the Genesis of Conflict and the role of youth in the National Action Plan in Pakistan. Miss. Bushra Haider shared her ideas on Understanding and Preventing/Countering Extremism. Ms. Mossarat Qadeem spoke on the Concept of TOLANA and encouraged students to extend the concepts of the workshop among the inhabitants of their respective areas. Ms. Aneela gave Action Plan to students for disseminating the message of the workshop in this regard.
The students actively participated in all activities of the workshop and enjoyed the learning process. Moreover, a certificate distribution ceremony would soon be held in FATA University in which students would be given Certificates of Participation by PAIMAN team.
